Oil Pressing Processes for Major Oilseeds
1. Peanut Kernel Pressing Method
Peanut kernels can be pressed either by hot pressing or cold pressing, with hot pressing being the preferred method (cold pressing yields inferior results compared to hot pressing). For hot pressing: first, roast the peanut kernels in a wok until they turn dark yellow, then take them out and feed into the press.Process flow: Peanut Kernels → Cleaning → Pressing (2 passes optional) → Filtration
2. Soybean Pressing Method
Currently, there are two main pressing methods for soybeans: hot pressing and cold pressing.
- Hot pressing: Soybeans → Screening → Pressing (2 passes optional) → Filtration
- Cold pressing: Soybeans → Screening → Pressing (with appropriate moisture content)
3. Rapeseed Pressing Method
Rapeseed can be pressed by hot pressing or cold pressing. To improve oil yield and oil quality, hot pressing is generally adopted. The process flows are as follows:
- Hot pressing: Rapeseed → Screening → Flaking → Steaming & Roasting → Pressing
- Cold pressing: Rapeseed → Screening → Flaking → Pressing
4. Cottonseed Pressing Process
Cottonseed → Cleaning → Pressing → Filtration
